How can I read the world coordinates of my cursor as I move it?

I’d like to be able to move my mouse cursor across the view and see the coordinates of the spot I’m pointing to. E.g. I see something and want to read off the coordinates and search catalogs to find it.
Of course a “look up this point in SIMBAD” option would also be nice.
I’d like to be able to choose the coordinate system: RA/Dec or galactic, with HMS or DMS or decimal degrees or hours, to match the crazy assortment of catalogs out there.

On a related note, the grids (from the Layer Manager) don’t stay visible when we zoom in deeply. So I really have no idea what the coords are, unless I do crazy interpolation math based on the field of view number in the lower right.

I’m using the web client via Ubuntu Linux / Chrome.
